Introduction
What a few people say about 'Our Club'...
I first became involved with Treeton cricket club about 28 years ago when my son Andrew started to play for the juniors when he was 13 years old.

During this time I have had various jobs within the club, leading the first
sponsorship committee and secretary of the bar committee to name just two. I along with many willing members past and present helped to build and renovate the clubhouse which gave us all a great deal of satisfaction.

Also during this time I have seen many memorable matches, the most famous one, the national village Knockout at Lords in 1987. Although we lost, what a wonderful day out for us all.

I was honoured to be asked to be president four years ago and hope to continue in this position for many years to come.

At Treeton we are a friendly set throughout - the players, management, tea ladies and bar staff. After such a successful past few seasons we look forward to a continuation of this both on and off the field and to see our club go from strength to strength.

I sincerely hope you enjoy browsing through our new website and hope it provides many items of interest to you.

There has always been a Haynes at Treeton since it was first officially formed in the early 20s.

They include my grandfather Albert and my father Ronald.

I have been with the club since 1964 and played in the Parramore Cup final in 1966, a year when First, Second and Juniors all won some type of cup.

I played mostly in the second team but got the odd first team game when they were short. I finished playing around 1982 due to a sternum injury and have only played on the odd occasion since. My last game being in front of a capacity crowd at Clumber Park!!!!

I became Vice Chairman soon after and then Chairman in 1986 with my father being Vice Chairman at the same time. From that time the club has gone from strength to strength both on and off the field.

The secret to this success is to have a group of people on the committee with a positive attitude towards all issues and I have been very fortunate to have such a group running our club.

I am immensely proud of our achievements and will continue to drive the club in a positive manner for the benefit of the club and local community.

People will continue to see changes off the field as we strive to continually improve our facilities.

Our website has been recently reformatted and hopefully you will enjoy the content as we continue to update.

In September 2003, I moved to Moorgate from Norton in Sheffield. Having supported Treeton C.C. for four seasons I decided that I would like to help out in some capacity. Graham Ellis our long serving secretary, amongst other duties, hinted that he wished to stand down and concentrate on coaching and other important aspects of club duties.

I offered to take over the general day to-day work as secretary and only hope I can make as much a success of it as Graham did.

Being the 'new boy' at Treeton C.C (75 years young) I have been welcomed by the club committee and players alike in the most friendly way and both Barbara and myself thank them for that.

I was cricket secretary and assistant football secretary at Sheffield United F.C for 3 years during the 1960s but have not been involved in the game since then. I am looking forward to the challenge ahead.

Treeton C.C have been so successful over the years and I can see no reason for any change and with the present talented squad we should only progress further in the seasons ahead.

Our re-vamped website is intended to be both informative and enjoyable. Our main aim however is to keep browsers in touch with all that is happening down at Washfield Lane and encourage people and players both young and old to join in the enjoyment and satisfaction of being a member of our fantastic cricket club..
