June 2009
Despite
a considerable amount of rain falling on South
Yorkshire during the week and Tickhill making
an early call to the Club advising that their
ground at Alderson Drive was supposedly to wet
for any play, Treeton’s 1st team overcame
the conditions to record yet another victory as
they swept the Premier Division new boys aside
to remain undefeated thus far in the 2009 season
in all league and Cup competitions.
Treeton
were put into bat and they were faltering at 90
for 5 but with 17 overs remaining in the innings,
Stuart Guy joined Danny Kemp at the crease and
the pair added an unbroken 135 runs partnership
for the sixth wicket. Danny top scoring with 86
not out and Stuart hitting 70 not out from 51
balls to propel the visitors to 233 for 5 at the
close of the innings.
Tickhill
were never up for the fight though and they were
all back in the pavilion for just 101 as Himesh
Silva collected 4 for 18 and Ben Ashdown 3 for
14 to guide Treeton to another seven point victory.
The
2nd and 3rd XI games were victim of the weather
with no play possible against Tickhill B and High
Green Village respectively.
The
1st team welcome Darfield to Washfield Lane next
Saturday (13th June) and York at home the following
day in the regional Semi-Final of the National
Knockout. The 2nd team travel to Warmsworth in
the League whilst the 3rd XI have no fixture.
