Treeton
brushed aside local neighbours Phoenix with relative
ease thanks to a seven wicket victory.
Phoenix batted first and they could only manage
103 all out in the 41st over, Himesh Silva was
back to first team action with a bang after recovering
from a shattered bone in his thumb which kept
him out of action for eight weeks before appearing
for the 2nds a fortnight ago. In a short but devastating
spell he bowled 4 overs, 2 maidens, 3 runs for
3 wickets! He was ably assisted by Ben Ashdown
who also grabbed 3 for 20.
Treeton then cruised to victory losing just three
wickets in the process as Steve Foster (47*) and
Ben Ashdown (40) led the way. Treeton maintained
their five point lead at the top of the Premier
Division as second placed Hallam recorded an easy
win against lowly Sheffield Collegiate B.
The 2nd team put in a magnificent display at home
to top of the table Rotherham Town B, when they
dismissed the visitors for just 115 (Craig Beaumont
5 for 16, George Barnes 3 for 36), before reaching
116 for the loss of just two wickets (George Barnes
40*).
The
third team had no fixture.
