Treeton's
first XI successfully completed another home victory
against Sheffield Collegiate B at Washfield Lane
but the game last a little longer than the previous
meeting earlier in the season when the match was
all over in less than two hours!
With
skipper Chris Cobb away with the future Mrs. Cobb,
stand in skipper Steve Foster won the toss and
elected to bowl first and Treeton soon had the
visitors in trouble when they were reduced to
18 for 5 courtesy of some accurate bowling by
Gary Montgomery and Steve Foster. Collegiate's
late order managed to hang around though and they
were eventually dismissed for 99 (Montgomery 4
for 12, Foster 4 for 25).
Treeton
then had little trouble in reaching the milestone
as they lost just one wicket in the process, that
of Andy Tomlinson for 36, but Ben Ashdown hung
around to see Treeton to another victory with
49 at just better than a run a ball.
Treeton
have a double header in store next weekend as
they entertain Tickhill on Saturday 22nd August
and then travel to Pontefract side Ackworth in
the Yorkshire Council Play Off quarter final on
the Sunday (12pm start).
The
2nd & 3rd XI had no game but return to action
next week.
